SESSION #1 – OVERVIEW OF THE ORMGP PROGRAM AND WEBSITE
This introductory session is designed to provide you with an overall orientation to the program and the vast data assemblage that is now available at your fingertips. Find out the breadth of subsurface and water related data available and how to quickly extract critical hydrogeological information that will provide you with an inside edge when preparing proposals or reports.
Topics covered: 1) Overview of Program; 2) Themed Approach to Website Mapping; 3) Document Searches; 4) Exploring the site: e.g. Locations; Boreholes, Water Budgets; GW Levels; and more; 5) Combining information from different themed maps; 6) Printing; 7) Filtering/Querying; 8) Cross-Sections.

SESSION #2 – UNDERSTANDING CENTRAL ONTARIO’S GEOLOGICAL SETTING
Central Ontario has a complex geological history. Of importance in understanding how water moves in the subsurface is, first and foremost, an understanding of the subsurface geology. Learn how the ORMGP team, building on earlier work, has assembled a regional Quaternary geological framework. Nearly every aspect of the geology can be found in one location on the ORMGP website: surficial geology, bedrock valleys, overburden thickness, on the fly cross-sections, virtual boreholes – and more – all readily available.
Topics to be Covered: 1) Elements of the geological setting; 2) Construction and rendering of geological surfaces; 3) Incorporating changes in geology/geological thinking; 4) ORMGP Website geological mapping; 5) On the fly cross-sectional analysis.

SESSION #3 – BRINGING CLIMATE AND STREAMFLOW DATA INTO THE ANALYSIS
The interdependence of groundwater and surface water has long been recognized, and the ORMGP website has been designed as a hub to improve user’s understanding of this interconnectivity. The website hosts what is perhaps the most comprehensive assembly of historical climate and surface water statistics found anywhere.
Topics to be covered: 1) ORMGP Climate/SW data management; 2) Overview of SW Statistics; 3) Overview of Climate statistics; 4) how can insights gained from these inform your work; 5) water budget tool overview

SESSION #4 – EFFECTIVELY USING THE ORMGP WEBSITE
This final session is designed to take you through a typical consulting/characterization project and show you how the ORMGP website can help to make you more efficient. We will focus on an example proposed development property to show how you can easily hydrogeologically characterize a site, customize maps for direct use in reports or slides, and save and share projects with team members. Overall, the intent of the session is to offer take away lessons that you can use going forward to effectively use the ORMGP data and information holdings.
